If I deleted an index entry unintentionally (which can happen inadvertently if you are switching between applications and something changes keyboard focus while you are typing), you can hit Ctrl-Z (or Edit > Undo) and your index entry re-appears in the index (with its subentries if there were any)!  This did happen while I was creating my help file, and this Undo feature saved my bacon!
